She has a diverse background in education, business development, sales and health having managed over 25 years of corporate consultancies locally and nationally.
Her University and tertiary work has included teaching Nursing and Business in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the University of Newcastle, Federation University, Central Queensland University, Notre Dame University Broome and TAFE NSW.
In addition to conducting the MHFA program she currently lectures into the Master of Business Administration program (Health Services Management) and works as a casual Mental Health Registered Nurse.

Michael is an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner and keeps in touch with the “real world” of mental health, by continuing to work as a casual registered mental health nurse.
He works within the community and hospital settings, in both private and public sectors.
His clinical work includes; psychiatric intensive care, drug and alcohol, forensics, psychogeriatric, rehabilitation; emergency, disabilities and aged care.
During the past 6 years Michael has enjoyed working in a variety of contexts including community mental health in Broome WA, private and public mental health in both the Sunshine Coast QLD and Hunter New England Health, NSW.
Michael’s mental health training and facilitation includes lecturing into the mental health residential schools for the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Central Queensland University, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Preceptor and Mentor.
He has a special interest in the application of Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and holds an Advanced Certificate in ACT.

The 12-hour Standard MHFA course has been endorsed for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, by the following professional bodies: Royal Australian College of Nurses, Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, Occupational Therapy Australia, Australian Association of Social Workers, College of Mental Health Nurses, Australian College of Midwives, Australian Practice Nurses Association, Australian Physiotherapy Association, Chiropractor’s Association of Australia, Fitness Australia, and Non endorsed professions that can claim CPD.
Participants who have completed the MHFA Program can become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider.
In order to do this the participant will need to complete an online Accreditation Test. If the participant passes the assessment, they will become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider and be issued a digital Certificate of Accreditation by MHFA Australia, valid for 3 years. There is no additional fee to sit the online accreditation assessment or receive the digital Certificate.
